Casale San Piero is an historical property in the Chianti area dating back to the 14th century, with an overall surface of ca. 670sqm. This property belonged originally to the sienese Hospital Santa Maria della Scala. It was known to be owned also by the noble family Piccolimini.
This traditional country house is located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico area, about 15km from Castello di Brolio, 10 km from Siena, 10 km from San Gusmè and 10 km from Castelnuovo Berardenga.
Casale San Piero is a typical example of Tuscan farmhouse architecture, it has had a wonderful restoration during the ‘70s by well known Arch. Uggioni.
The main house has three levels. On the ground floor there is a wide entrance with stone floor, kitchen, lounge with fireplace, study and bathroom; the first floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, laundry room, wardrobe and a wonderful balcony (loggia); the last floor known as “the colombaia” (piggeon house) is an ample room that can be used as additional living area or bedroom, with a balcony with breathtaking views.
The property also has an outdoor “pergola”, old stables with courtyard, a detached barn with its “aia” in terracotta floors (like a terrace), porch with wood brick oven, ancient underground cellar and two storage rooms.
Casale San Piero has 2 hectares of land with an old vineyard and an olive grove and a 2150 sqm manicured garden.
