Casale Camparone sits in a seven thousand acre wine and olive grove estate, 16 km from Siena. It is part of the Consortium of Villa Arceno which preserves the architectural and natural environment of this area. Camparone, plus other farmhouses on the estate, existed in the XV century and the Sosprintedenza ai Beni Culturali (office for the protection of cultural patrimony) has been extremely severe and no one has been able to alter the exteriors of these farm houses. They remain the same as during the ownership of the Piccolomini-Clementini family. There are two historical cypress alleys with 200 year-old trees lining the driveways. There is a romantic Park with a small, duck and swan filled lake, a lovely place to walk and picnic. This estate, which goes back to Etruscan times, can be located on the Italian touring map between Castelnuovo Beradenga and San Gusme.
