This gorgeous villa is an amazing renovation of a typical Tuscan villa in the countryside located near Volterra – a charming medieval village in the heart of the Tuscan countryside – and only 5 minutes from the Theatre of the Silence, a natural amphitheater hosting every year an international musical event organized by the tenor Andrea Bocelli.
This beautiful farmhouse, belonging to the known county Rasponi-Spinelli (already owner of the famous Vasari archive), has been completely restored with original materials dating back to the nineteenth century.
Surrounded by a beautiful private garden (extending for about 25.000 sqm with lawn, century old oaks, olive and fruit trees), Villa Emma has a lovely swimming pool with salt water chlorination (12×6, equipped with gazebo) and several porches (including one provided with barbecue and dining table for 14 people).
The villa of 700 sqm can accommodate up to 14 people, is spread over 2 floors for a total of 7 bedrooms (6 doubles and 1 twin) and 7 bathrooms (4 with shower and 3 with bathtub). More specifically, the property consists of:
Ground Floor: On the ground floor the villa welcomes you in a fantastic veranda with huge glass walls which make the dining room very bright. The dining room is connected to the big living room which is a real example of Tuscan style architecture with a sequence of brick arch and fire place. A pleasant susrprisa is the kitchen which has been recently renovated in a more modern style, where modern and traditional styles mix perfectly.
On the ground floor after the living room there are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
First Floor: In this floor there are five bedrooms, five bathrooms and balcony.
Also there’s an apartment with 2 bedrooms and kitchen with a distinct entrance thought for the servants.
Dependance: Next to the farmhouse, there is an independent dependance with kitchen, wood-burning oven and dining table for 10 people (without either bedrooms or bathrooms).
The interior design is rustic, comfortable and welcoming. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and mosquito nets. Included free Wi-Fi throughout the villa and garden.
CHIANNI AND SURROUNDINGS
The property is located in Chianni, a small village in the Pisan Chianti area, known for the traditional wild boar feast, reaching this year its 38th edition.
A few km away from the villa there are Volterra (a beautiful medieval village) and “The Theatre of Silence” in Lajatico (a natural amphitheater carved into the beautiful hills of Lajatico) where every year takes place an important musical event, where Andrea Bocelli performs with maby other artists with a world-audience.
Just about an hour’s drive you will find two other small and ancient medieval villages: Castagneto Carducci (which is the childhood place of the famous Italian poet Giosuè Carducci) and Bolgheri. The latter is the producing country of one of the best wines in the world, the Sassicaia.
This town is, in fact, part of the Etruscan Coast Wine and Olive Oil Route, an area extending for over 150 kilometers along the Province of Livorno, including Elba Island, and consists of wine and olive oil producers.
For sea lovers, the nearest seaside resorts are Vada (33 km), Cecina (37 km), Castiglioncello (51 km) and Rosignano Marittimo (31 km) with its white sandy beaches.
For wellness lovers, we suggest to reach the nearby spas of Casciana Terme, whereas for sport lovers, in addition to trekking/biking trails and riding stables, there is a golf course just 15 km from the villa.
The famous Tuscan cities of art (Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca) are easily reachable by car.
