It is an honour for me to recommend this book. The late Wes Walker was an exceptional man, unique in its human qualities and intellectual approach to life, having been a Judge in California and at the same time a photographer as a hobby he had a unique way of looking at life and the world. I was lucky to have met him during my years living in Napa and then shared with him his days of scouting Tuscany while working on this photographic safari, seeing Tuscany from his lens is like seeing Tuscany for the first time! His images are the ones adding colour to our home page too!

Barbara Singer’s book is inspirational both in her quest to leap forward into her life trusting what life had to teach her, and in her courage to tread new paths while openly sharing her fears and learnings. Share her travel experiences from Alaska to Tuscany!

Under the Tuscan sun created a revolution around Cortona and Tuscany. It was a special read for me many years ago, yet it is still fantastic reading, fun, entertaining and informational!

For some of you it is not about romanticizing or dreaming, but about very practical planning as you travel Tuscany, we found Rick Steves' Florence & Tuscany 2010, a fantastic well researched tool.

Driving and exploring Tuscany, understanding its different regions, is fundamental to have a clear idea about what Tuscany is all about!. Frommer's 25 Great Drives in Tuscany and Umbria is a fantastic starting point!

This cook book is amazing, written by Lorenza de Medici Stucchi, utmost Tuscan, with beautiful imaging, and the history of Tuscany’s traditional food plus great recipes. A must have for Tuscany and gourmet lovers!

Ripe for the picking is a book about Italy, in Liguria, not Tuscany, however, I have chosen this book because I enjoyed reading it, it was fun, witty, smart, inspirational and had so many similarities to our Tuscan experience that we think it is worth your while to read it!

Okay, so there were pioneers to this Tuscan thing!! The Chiantishire got its name but people such as Tony Rocca and his wife, author’s of this true life story of the beginnings of Tuscany as it is known today to the world, in the early 1990’s. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!
