Stigliano is a mdieval village located about 20 km or 14 miles from Siena that can be reached through the Siena Grosset highway E 78 (S 223). Stigliano was founded during the same historical period as Siena, as one more of its strongholds.
Still today, one can get a feeling for what the fortress must have looked like during medieval times, by the imposing castle and towers overlooking Tuscanys countryside.
Like many Tuscany villages, Stigliano was abandoned until most of its majesty became ruings. During the last decade most of the village has been restructured and restored honouring its original beauty.
It is now the home of an international community, some who live there permanently and many others that own their dream home in Tuscany in Stigliano, province of Siena.
